Weighing In

Sorry guys that I didn't post weighing in segment last week. But I back on track. Okay last time I weighed in at 303. Today I weighed in at 302. I lost a pound. Thank you Jesus! For those of you who are in this fight with me be encouraged. We can do this one day at a time and one pound at a time.

What's Weighing You Down?

I need to start thinking ahead and not always go for the instant gratification. Yes it may taste good but there are consequences for my actions. You know what they say a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips.(smile) So before I open up that next bag of chips, I need to ask myself is it worth it? I need to live more consciously. I don't believe in telling myself no all the time sometimes you need to just enjoy the ice cream. However sometimes the answer has to be no if I am to reach my goal. It's going to take discipline, determination, and consistency. I believe that is the key.

Healthy Tips

Cucumbers:

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

What's Weighing You Down?

We all basically know what to do to lose weight but actually doing it is another thing. The concept is basically simple you eat less and move more. Sometimes I have to ask myself how much do I really want this? If you really want something you will go after it with all your heart. Nothing will stop you. So why am I not going after this with all my heart and stopping short of my goal. As funny as it may sound is being overweight comfortable for me? Am I afraid of failure so I don't really try? These are questions I need to ask myself and be honest with myself. Nothing is holding me back but me. So again I say to myself how bad do you want this? You can do this Monica. One day at a time, one pound at a time.

What's Weighing You Down?

I need to get my mindset right. I have been all over the place,up one minute down the next. I believe the weight loss process starts in the mind first. You have to be fully committed. I will admit this process hasn't been easy. Sometimes I want to give up and say forget it. But I can't give up, I owe to myself to be healthy. I am worth the fight. Anything worth having takes effort, determination and tenacity. The pay off in the end will be so worth it. I'm going to make a vision board so I can see where I want to go. It will also provide motivation to keep me going.

Healthy Recipes

From: Weight Watchers

Gazpacho Salad

Makes 6 servingsPOINTS® value | 1 per serving
Ingredients
1 pound grape or cherry tomatoes, halved (4 cups)
1 medium English cucumber, peeled, halved lengthwise and chopped (2 cups)
2 celery stalks, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced (1 1/4 cups)
1 medium green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and chopped (1 1/4 cups)
1 small red onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Several dashes hot red pepper sauce, to taste
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a large serving bowl. Toss well, and serve.

Serving size 1 1/3 cups.



Healthy Tips

Ok last week I talked about one of my staples skinny cow ice cream. Here's another one that you can try. We all love the taste of a nice cold glass of soda pop but we don't love the calories. Here's a healthy alternative. All you need is fruit juice of your choice without sugar & club soda. Pour in 1/2 of juice into glass & add club soda. Isn't that simple and it is a delicious drink with the frizz of soda.

Healthy Tips

I want to share with you my latest snack that is good but not loaded with calories. Let's hear the drumroll please......The winner is Skinny Cow Ice Cream. I love this stuff and believe me when I say it taste like the real thing! They have a variety of flavors in ice cream sandwiches however I recently tried their ice cream cones. I looooovvvvvve their vanilla and carmel ice cream cone. (smile) It gives me the satisfaction without the calories so there is no guilt what could be better. It's 150 calories and only 3g of fat! If you try it let me know what you think ok? I promise you won't be disappointed.

What's Weighing You Down?

Let's talk about choices. Where we are in our life comes down to the choices we have made. It is as simple as that. You will reap what you sow. We can apply this truth to eating right. If you make good food choices, you will lose weight. If you make bad food choices you will gain weight. It's time out for denial. The dryer didn't shrink your clothes, you aren't big-boned, you aren't just bloated, etc.. (smile) There are so many excuses we tell ourselves to make ourselves feel better. Let's keep it real. If you stay in denial you will just stay where you are. Embrace the truth and you open the door to change.
